The Occupational Certificate: Training and Development Practitioner is designed for professionals who design, facilitate, and evaluate learning interventions in organisations. This qualification equips you with the practical skills, applied knowledge, and workplace experience needed to support skills development and organisational learning.

At The DaVinci Institute, we focus on applied, work-integrated learning. This programme develops your ability to design learning programmes, facilitate training, apply assessment practices, and work within skills development legislation and frameworks.

You will graduate with a strong, practice-based capability in training and development, ready to contribute to organisational capability building and national skills advancement

You will develop the capability to:


  • Analyse learning and development needs, within an occupational context, compile learning and development plans and reports and guide stakeholders on learning and development trends, practices and quality assurance.
  • Schedule, coordinate implements and evaluate an occupationally relevant learning and development intervention.
  • Coordinate and manage learning and development within an occupational context.
  • Facilitate learning in an occupational context utilising adult learning principles and techniques.
  • Plan, implement and evaluate work based learning interventions in an occupational context.
  • Plan and conduct assessments in a variety of occupational contexts.

This is a fully integrated occupational qualification consisting of:

  • Knowledge Modules (Learning design, facilitation, assessment, skills development legislation and practice)
  • Practical Skills Modules (Training delivery, facilitation, assessment support and evaluation)
  • Workplace Experience Modules (Applied learning in real training and organisational environments)
  • All components are compulsory and designed to build complete, work-ready project management competence.

Entry Requirements

  • An NQF Level 4 qualification with English Communication.
  • Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) will be considered for experienced professionals who do not meet the formal entry requirements.
