The Occupational Certificate: Retail Chain Store Manager is designed for professionals who want to lead and manage retail operations with confidence and commercial insight. This qualification equips you with the practical skills, applied knowledge, and workplace experience needed to manage retail stores in competitive and technology-driven environments.


 At The DaVinci Institute, we focus on applied, work-integrated learning. This programme develops your ability to drive operational excellence, manage financial performance, enhance customer experience, and lead retail teams effectively.
 You will graduate with a strong, end-to-end retail management capability aligned to modern retail best practice.


You will develop the capability to:

  • Maintain or improve customer service standards in a retail chain store.
  • Manage stock levels.
  • Manage retail chain store operations.
  • Minimise shrinkage and loses in a retail chain store.
  • Plan to improve the bottom line contribution of a retail chain store.

This is a fully integrated occupational qualification consisting of:

  • Knowledge Modules (Retail operations, financial management, customer service, merchandising, people management)
  • Practical Skills Modules (Store management, sales planning, performance monitoring, reporting and control)
  • Workplace Experience Modules (Applied learning in real retail store environments)
  • All components are compulsory and designed to build complete, work-ready project management competence.

Entry Requirements

  • An NQF Level 4 with Mathematical Literacy and Communication. 
  • Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) will be considered for experienced professionals who do not meet the formal entry requirements.
